A bit about 3D printing

Everything at here Clover & Fox Forge is designed and 3D printed by us in Mount Compass, South Australia.

A lot of people still hear “3D printed” and think of the rough, flimsy plastic stuff that used to be everywhere years ago. Fair enough. But 3D printing has come a long way, and when it’s done properly, it’s a really good way to make functional products that need to fit properly and actually do their job.

That’s why it works so well for what we make. Baby monitor brands are constantly changing their cameras, bases and threads, and 3D printing lets us make mounts and adapters for specific models without having to order thousands of units from a factory somewhere.

Mitch has a Masters in Mechatronics Engineering and has spent years working with 3D printing and 3D scanning technology, so this isn’t a case of us buying a printer and winging it. Our products are designed to be practical, sturdy and actually useful in day-to-day life.

Because they’re 3D printed in small batches, you might notice the odd tiny cosmetic variation from one print to the next. That’s normal and doesn’t affect how the product works. What matters to us is that it fits properly, does what it’s supposed to, and makes life a bit easier.
